![]() In terms of the bedding and other laundry items, this location had a big problem going on. Nevertheless, I did appreciate Smiles' helpfulness the night before. When I checked out in the morning in person, nobody ever mentioned the incident. ![]() Smiles said he would report this to the manager and there would be 'something' for me at the desk when I check out the next morning. Smiles told me he's only worked here a couple of weeks, but asked if there was anything he could do to make up for it. I don't remember his name but the nickname on his name tag was something like smiley or Smiles. This employee who helped me was actually working the front desk and I think he was on his own. When I mentioned that the duvet cover also looked like it could use a washing, he went and grabbed a clean one for me and I helped him change out the duvet cover - not an easy task. He retrieved a new pad then he and I changed it and re-made the bed. He looked at the pad and said it should have been thrown away. I called the front desk and the representative came quickly. Ugh! It was 11:00 pm and I didn't want to change rooms. Looking further, there were many stains all over the mattress pad, most of them dark enough to show through the sheet. It turned out that the mattress pad underneath the sheet was so badly stained that it showed through the sheet. I saw what looked like a big stain on the sheet. I was going to try to overlook that until I turned down the bed. When I got ready for bed, I noticed the bedspread (duvet cover) was dingy and had dirty spots on it. The first bathroom towel I picked up was stained. My initial impression of my 4th floor room was that not as clean as I expect from Hampton, nor was it very modern.
